Franz Rudnick

Franz Rudnick (born October 13, 1931 in Hamburg , † October 13, 2005 in Munich ), also Francis J. Rudnyck , was a German actor and voice actor .

Life

Franz Rudnick attended the drama school of the German Theater in Berlin under Agnes Windeck and Gerda Müller . He made his debut at the Halberstadt Theater .

Engagements took him to Schwerin , Dresden , Magdeburg and to the stands in Berlin. From there he went to the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg in 1972 and moved to the Münchner Kammerspiele in 1977 .

As a voice actor, he has lent his voice to many well-known actors, including James Cromwell , Christopher Plummer and Martin Landau . His best-known dubbing role is Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in the movie Full Metal Jacket .

He died on October 13, 2005, on the day of his 74th birthday, after a long illness in a Munich clinic. Franz Rudnick was buried on October 25, 2005 in the Nienstedten cemetery in Hamburg.
