occupation

30 Liter Super is a film from the Tatort series from 1979. It is a Saarbrücken crime scene. The investigator is the Commissioner Schäfermann ( Manfred Heidmann ). The film first aired on April 8, 1979.

action

Building contractor Loderer is murdered on the train to Paris and the 150,000 DM that he had with him for a property purchase are stolen. Commissioner Schäfermann takes over the case and suspects Loderer's indebted partner Josef Eckel, who will also inherit the company. He had borrowed a five-figure amount from a business friend and put the money into an allegedly very lucrative business. When it becomes clear that Eckel has lost his money, the financier gives him 48 hours to pay off his debts.

Since Josef Eckel had his car checked in the workshop the day before, Schäfermann can precisely determine the kilometers he has driven and the lack of fuel (30 liters of super). This is a burden for Eckel, since he had stated that he was only in town. However, this theory is shaken when Peter Gabler reports to the police and claims to have driven Eckel's car to his girlfriend. He works in the workshop where the car was the day before and allegedly had copied the keys. The fact that Gabler appears with Eckel's lawyer behind him, however, makes the inspector puzzled. Nevertheless, he has to release Eckel from custody. Since Gabler's girlfriend confirms his information, Schäfermann is at a loss.

In the evening, Peter Gabler appears at Eckel and indicates that he expects something in return for his statement. When he got money from Eckel the next day, Eckel explained to him that his gratitude had limits. But after a short time Gabler blackmailed the building contractor again and Eckel made the decision to get rid of Gabler. He lures the car fanatic with a small private chariot race and provokes an accident in which Gabler burns to death in his Porsche. Schäfermann, who had followed Eckel, arrested him because he can now prove that Gabler's statement was wrong: his girlfriend withdrew her statement after she had feared that her boyfriend would be mistaken for the murderer because he was at the time of the crime not with Eckel's car with her, but on the same train as the victim.

background

A frequently received car racing scene between Eckel in the BMW 630 CS (see film min. 36.24) and Gabler in the Porsche 911 (original model) takes place at the end of the film.

Reviews

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm judge cautiously: "The really old case is only for fans."
