Veronika Bayer

Veronika Bayer (born June 4, 1940 in Stuttgart , † January 31, 2008 in Bochum ) was a German actress .

Life

She took acting lessons from Else Bongers in Berlin. She then got engagements at the Volksbühne Berlin (1962), at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (1967–1972), at the Bavarian State Theater in Munich (1972), at the Burgtheater in Vienna (1973 directed by Jean-Pierre Ponnelle in Alfred de Mussets plays Man not with love in the Akademietheater ), on the stages of the city of Cologne (1973–1975) and again at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (1976–1980). In 1981 she became a member of the ensemble of the newly founded Theater an der Ruhr in Mülheim an der Ruhr . Bayer has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Bochum since the 2000/2001 season . Her last role was Gabriele Wegrat in Arthur Schnitzler's Der einsame Weg .

In the course of her career, Veronika Bayer embodied numerous important female theater characters such as Gretchen in Faust or Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream , but also appeared in several feature films. In melody and rhythm she was a partner of Peter Kraus , in Wenn die Heide blooms by Joachim Hansen .

Veronika Bayer died on January 31, 2008 after a short, serious illness.
