Student Bodies ( dt. About student bodies ) is a Canadian comedy series , which from 1997 to 2000 in Montreal , Quebec was produced.

action

Cody Miller and his friends Chris and Mags founded a kind of underground newspaper on the advice of their new classmate Emily, which is published alongside the official student newspaper Student Voice at Thomas A. Edison High School . Cody draws a comic strip of the same name for this newspaper called Student Bodies , which is a big part of the series. Similar to the series Lizzie McGuire , which was later also broadcast on the channel KI.KA , Cody's true opinion on the events is presented in a humorous comic. Especially his rival Victor Kane, who in turn publishes the official school newspaper, gives him the incentive to dream of his comic book dreams. Of course, Cody's friends, including Emily, Grace, Holly and Kim, can also be found in his comics. The problem is, however, that Cody and his friends have to share an editorial team with Victor and his loyal photographer Flash.

criticism

  • bbc.co.uk wrote that the plot was partly very simple ("simplistic storylines"), but the comic sequences were witty ("witty") and a welcome change ("welcome diversion").

Others

  • Although the series was shot in Montreal, it was produced in English and otherwise tried to create the impression that the high school was in the United States
  • On Canadian television, the series was broadcast under the title Vice Versa (dt. Vice versa ).
  • The episode "Gay Friend" has not been broadcast on German television, apparently because the subject (Emily's best friend outed himself as a homosexual) too risky for the KI.KA was.
