Katheryn Winnick (* 17th December 1977 in Etobicoke , Ontario as Katerena Anna Vinitska ) is a Canadian actress .

life and career

Winnick grew up in Etobicoke, a city that was later incorporated into Toronto , and learned Ukrainian as his first language . She learned various martial arts and now has a third degree black belt in Taekwondo and a second degree black belt in karate . She is also a state-approved bodyguard . Even in high school, she played in theater productions and wrote her own plays. Furthermore, she gave on the film set a. a. Jennifer Jason Leigh took martial arts lessons and discovered her passion for acting. So she went to auditions and was offered a role in a television series on the second.

She had her first major role in 1999 in Student Bodies , where she stood in front of the camera with Jamie Elman , as in the film And Nietzsche Wept . Winnick took acting classes at William Esper's studio in New York City before moving to Los Angeles . She played Ivana Trump in the ABC film biography about Donald Trump . For her role in Daddy's Little Girl , Winnick received a Short Film Award in the Best Actress category at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival .

From 2013 she played the lead role of Lagertha Lothbrok in the Canadian-Irish television series Vikings , the end of which was announced after the 6th season in January 2019.

In 2019 she took on the role of undercover investigator Christine "CG" Gavin in the first season of the Netflix series Wu Assassins . In addition to her fellow actor Iko Uwais , she was also involved as a co-producer on the series and directed one episode.
