Road Party (Original title: Going the Distance ) is a Canadian youth - comedy film from the year 2004 . The film was released in Canada on August 20, 2004.

Friends Nick, Dime, and Tyler live in a small town in western Canada and have just graduated from high school . After Nick's girlfriend started an internship with a music producer in Toronto, he realizes that he wants to marry her and plans to get engaged to her. He wants to fly to Toronto for it, but his two friends kidnap him on a road trip with Nick's RV because they also want to go to Toronto for the MuchMusic Video Awards . On the way they meet the two hitchhikers Sasha and Jill, who they take with them.

Meanwhile, Nick's parents give a private detective the task of disrupting the road trip because they want to thwart their son's plans because they think his girlfriend is a bad person. This also managed to disrupt the road trip, with the mobile home being destroyed, among other things. The five continue anyway and Nick and Sasha as well as Dime and Jill get closer. After Nick and Sasha have slept together, Nick feels remorse and lets Sasha feel it too. After arriving in Toronto, Sasha decides to return to her hometown.

After Nick meets his girlfriend, he realizes that he loves Sasha, breaks up with his girlfriend and sets off with Dime, Tyler and Jill to Sasha's hometown. There Nick confesses to Sasha that he loves her and that he broke up with his girlfriend and the two become a couple.

Ryan Belleville was for his performance in the category 2005 film - Male - Pretty Funny Performance for the Canadian Comedy Award nomination.
