Etobicoke [ ɛˈtoʊ̯bɪˌkoʊ̯ ] is the westernmost district of Toronto with about 345,000 inhabitants (as of 2005) and an area of 123.93 square kilometers. From 1967 to 1998, Etobicoke was a city that was eventually merged with Toronto as part of Ontario's administrative reform .
It extends between the old city center of Toronto , Lake Ontario and Mississauga . Etobicoke's main artery is Highway 427, which begins in downtown Toronto and is the direct route to Pearson International Airport.
White rapper Snow , who had a hit with the title Informer in the 1990s, was born in Etobicoke.
Etobicoke was one of the venues for the CONCACAF Women's Championship in 1998 .
