North York [ ˈnɔɹθˌjɔɹk ] is a borough of Toronto . In the middle part of the municipal area, it forms the northern end of the city limits. North York has an area of ​​176.87 square kilometers and a population of 608,288 (2001). Originally founded on June 13, 1922, the borough has been Toronto since 1967. The demographic distribution in North York in 2001 was as follows: 47% consisted of so-called visible minorities.
