Amusement is a 2008 American horror thriller directed by John Simpson ; Jake Wade Wall wrote the script. It was released in theaters on October 9, 2008 in Thailand.

Shelby, Tabitha and Lisa were close friends in childhood. As adolescents, they lost sight of each other. Nevertheless, they are confronted with their past again. Each of them - initially independently of one another - falls into the clutches of a psychopath. Shelby is kidnapped by a bourgeois-looking driver, Tabitha has to save herself and the children entrusted to her from a perverted burglar during a babysitting job, and Lisa is captured in a dusty boarding house, where people are obviously being tortured to death.
Tabitha, who was able to save herself and her charges, is interrogated by the FBI . Allegedly, her two former friends are also staying here, the psychologist on duty tells her. The trauma specialist also remembers one of her youngest patients, who comes from the same town (Briar Hills) as the three girls. The memory of his bizarre fantasies of violence makes her shudder. She abruptly says goodbye to telephone to inquire about the boy's fate. Tabitha later finds her murdered in the hallway. Tabitha, too, can still remember the macabre jokes of her classmate, who was about the same age. Back then, the girls mocked him. Now he stands in front of her in the uniform of an FBI guard and chases her through the corridors of the building.
In a chamber, the other two girls are tied up, gagged and presented with their torso apparently open. But a little later the exposed intestines turn out to be deceptively real latex dummy. Tabitha is amused by the good staging. This is how she manages to gain the perpetrator's trust for a moment. As he approaches her gently, she cuts his neck with a scalpel. She uses the short time in which he is incapacitated to free her friends from their chains. But barely on his feet, he rams a knife into Lisa. The other two girls flee up a ladder, but Shelby falls down with the psychopath. At the top of the ladder, Tabitha comes into a room with no further escape. A roller shutter closes on one wall, and the sounds of a starting engine penetrate the semi-dark room. It is in the hold of a truck. When the madman laughs at her through a peephole, she sticks a trident in his face. His end is sealed - Tabitha can save herself.

The lexicon of international films judged that the production offered “nothing new from the horror front” , but that it was “entertainment on a solid level” .
