Reid Scott (born November 19, 1977 in Albany , New York ) is an American actor . He was best known for his role as Brendan Dorff on the sitcom My Boys . He has also appeared in various commercials, the television series All My Children and the theater production Cargo .

Life

Scott was born on November 19, 1977 in Albany, New York. He attended Syracuse University and then moved to New York City to begin a film career. He currently lives in Los Angeles .

After roles in the daily soap All My Children , the play Cargo and various commercials, Reid moved to the West Coast and got a leading role in the pilot of With You In Spirit for Fox . In this he should play a character based on Steve Levitan , the inventor of the series. However, the series never continued.

He then moved several times from New York to Los Angeles and vice versa. He worked consistently for television and cinema. He played one of the main characters in My Boys , a TBS sitcom . Scott also starred in the sitcom Absolutely Relative .

Scott also part of the cast of Showtime's The Big C . There he took on the role of the main character's oncologist (played by Laura Linney ).

Since 2012 he has played the role of Dan Egan in the HBO series Veep - The Vice President .
