action
The series is about the four young New Yorkers Kate Swanson, Ben Parr, Connie Grabowski and Larry Munsch, who are all in their late twenties. When Kate and Ben met, it was love at first sight for both of them . Larry, Ben's best friend, and Connie, Kate's best friend, have nothing but contempt for one another. In contrast to Kate and Ben, they don't believe in great, eternal love either.
characters
- Ben Parr
- Ben is a hopeless romantic who works as a lawyer. He wants to develop a relationship with Kate because he believes she is the woman of his dreams.

reception
Carolin Neumann from Serienjunkies.de wrote: “ CBS is pairing its flagship New York sitcom“ How I Met Your Mother ”with this uninspired newcomer, in that it - whatever else - is about the love life of four New Yorkers. You could hardly make it harder for “Mad Love”, because although “HIMYM” is no longer as great as it was at the beginning, in direct comparison the viewer becomes painfully aware of what the new series is missing. ”She also writes that“ laugh once in a 20-minute comedy episode [...] simply too little. ”She claims that it is“ too stupid [is] that the main actors are completely lacking in chemistry ”. Regarding the plot, she says that “the actors [...] really [try], but the whole initial situation of the series [would] be so artificial that even their tried and tested comedy timing cannot help. Especially since they are all only allowed to utter warmed-up 08/15 sentences that sound as if CBS had the scripts meticulously read by two dozen market researchers from the 90s until the last rough edges were erased.
