10-8: Officers on Duty is an American police television series on ABC broadcasting from September 28, 2003 through January 25, 2004. The series comprises 15 episodes in a season, of which only 14 episodes were shown on US television.
action
The plot revolves around the first few weeks of the young deputy sheriff Rico Amonte, who is fresh out of the academy and starts his service in the sheriff's department in Los Angeles. The individual episodes show everyday police work, but also often dangerous missions that he usually has to endure with the colored Senior Deputy John Henry Barnes. They deal with drug dealers, murderers, bank robbers, prisoners and gang wars. Over time, Rico Amonte falls in love with his young colleague, Deputy Gabriela Lopez.

ABC canceled the series due to bad ratings before the end of the first season. In Germany, Kabel eins showed the complete series from November 21, 2009 to March 6, 2010.
