Joachim Ludwig
Carl Joachim Ludwig (born October 20, 1931 in Zittau ; † March 1, 1994 in Munich ) was a German composer , entertainer, director and film producer .
biography
Joachim Ludwig came from a Protestant rectory and after graduating from high school in Dresden studied music at the University of the Arts. Ludwig was a student of Herbert von Karajan and later worked with him. He then worked as a composer for various film and television productions, for example for the film comedy Pudelnackt in Upper Bavaria , Hugo, der Weiberschreck , the ZDF series Please no police , Die Totenschmecker or the crime scene .
Ludwig worked with Rudolf Kempe , among others . Later he became involved as a television producer for the Bavarian radio and the Austrian radio .
In 1979 and 1980 he released two of his own long-playing records Piano Power and Magic Piano . In April 1980 he played Chopin's 2nd Piano Concerto at the Salzburg Easter Festival in the Großer Festspielhaus . In the autumn of 1980 the "Six Continental Statements" (for piano, choir and percussion instruments), a composition commission for a concert at the United Nations , premiered.
In 1987 he also produced a 13-part television documentary called "California Highway", which was first broadcast on ORF . He was the owner of the television production company "van Ludwig Productions" in Munich , which worked in close cooperation with the Bavaria film studios .
Ludwig also appeared under the stage names Daniel Corty , Mike Malibu and Victor Saltman .
From autumn 1980 Carl Joachim Ludwig was also a lecturer and professor for the then new subject “applied composition” at the University of Music in Würzburg .
