Gedeon Burkhard (born July 3, 1969 in Munich ) is a German actor and director .

Career

He had his greatest successes to date in the early 1990s in the German films Kleine Haie und Abgeschminkt! and as the successor to Tobias Moretti as the "master" of Inspector Rex in the series of the same name about a police officer and his shepherd dog, who does not leave his side in his investigations. In 1999 Gedeon Burkhard was awarded the Austrian television award Goldene Romy for his role in Commissioner Rex as the most popular series star .

In 2001 Burkhard played the role of Reggie in the US production Superfire - Inferno in Oregon . In 2006 he played the role of Mischa Hahn in the film Goldene Zeiten, directed by Peter Thorwarth . Burkhard also played a leading role in Joseph Vilsmaier's film The Last Train . Burkhard played a supporting role in Quentin Tarantino's film Inglourious Basterds in 2009.

From March 2007 to April 2008 (up to episode 179) he was the chief detective Chris Ritter in alarm for Cobra 11 - The Autobahn Police until he was replaced as Ben Jäger by actor Tom Beck .

Burkhard also works as a voice actor and lent his voice to Keanu Reeves ( A crazy journey through the night ) and Joaquin Phoenix ( Signs , The Master ), among others .

From February 26, 2011, Gedeon Burkhard and his dance partner Samanta Togni took part in Ballando con le stelle , the Italian edition of Let's Dance , which was part of Rai 1's program . The couple reached 5th place.

Burkhard plays one of the main roles, the German actor and UFA star Gustav Fröhlich , in the international feature film Die Geliebte des Teufels (The Devil's Beloved) by Czech director Filip Renč about the life of the controversial Czech actress Lída Baarová and her relationship with Joseph Goebbels . The film was shot primarily in the Czech Republic from April to June 2015, celebrated its world premiere in January 2016 in Prague and opened on April 15, 2016 in Germany and Austria.

Private life

Two great-grandfathers of Burkhard are the Albanian actor Alexander Moissi and the writer Walter von Molo . His mother Elisabeth von Molo is also an actress. Burkhard was married for three months in 1996. He has a daughter with his former girlfriend Filomena Iannacone.
