Meng Huo ( Chinese  孟獲 ), king of the Nanman , was a leader of the tribes in the Nanzhong region at the time of the Three Kingdoms in China (220–280).

In the classic novel The Story of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong , which describes the events of the Three Kingdoms in a romantic way, it is reported that he was involved in various minor battles with the Shu Han Empire . When the empires of Wu and Wei focused on fighting each other, the Chancellor of the Shu Empire, Zhuge Liang , took the opportunity to wage a campaign against the Nanman. After Meng Huo was captured and released seven times by Zhuge, he surrendered and swore allegiance to Shu. With his back free, Zhuge began a series of campaigns against the Wei Empire.

Meng Huo was married to Zhu Rong , who claimed a descent from the god of fire.

In official historiography, Meng Huo is not considered a member of the Nanman (literally translated as "southern barbarians"), but as a Han Chinese.

Furthermore, Meng Huo is the model for the character of the same name in the video game series Dynasty Warriors from Koei .
