Chucky's Baby is an American horror comedy that was released in 2004. Chucky's Baby is the fifth installment in the film series about the killer doll Charles "Chucky" Lee Ray. Directed by Don Mancini , who also wrote the script.

prehistory

Shortly before his death, the serial killer Charles Lee Ray was able to transfer his spirit (through a magical ritual) into a doll, which from then on goes on mischief as "Chucky" and commits numerous, sometimes bestial, murders. At the same time he tries to get back into a human body again and again. In the fourth part, Chucky and his bride , Chucky meets Tiffany, who was friends with him during Charles Lee Ray's lifetime and who now kills Chucky and also puts her soul in a doll. In order to become human again, the two dolls need an amulet, which is located in the grave of Charles Lee Ray's human body. Before they find the amulet, the two killer dolls have a night of love, from which a child emerges who is found by the ventriloquist Psychs together with the mysterious amulet and taken away as his new ventriloquist doll.

action

Jennifer Tilly is depressed because her acting career appears to be over. Her assistant Joan can hardly cheer her up either. Still, Jennifer got the lead role in the Hollywood film "Chucky Goes Crazy". During a casting for a Jesus film, Jennifer met the director and rapper Redman and made an appointment with him at her home.

Meanwhile, a ventriloquist's doll found out that Chucky and Tiffany are very likely his parents after seeing them on a TV show. She tries to find her and escapes from her previous home, where she was always treated like a monster and kept in a cage, to Hollywood. There she meets her actual parents and revives them. Since the baby has no genitals, Tiffany names her child Glenda; However, Chucky is convinced that it is a boy, so he calls him Glen. At first, Glen is still happy about his parents. However, when they watch Tiffany and Chucky behead a film technician with a wire , they are completely shocked. Nevertheless, his parents go to Jennifer Tilly's apartment, where they nestle in the attic. Though Tiffany admires Jennifer, the doll knocks both director Redman and actress unconscious later in the evening. Chucky and Tiffany plan to slip into their bodies in order to be able to live as fully fledged human beings afterwards, but beforehand they want to use Jennifer as a surrogate mother in order to possibly conceive a "fully equipped" baby that can be used as a body for Glen (da ) and Tiffany doesn't have to go through a pregnancy again herself. Chucky masturbates and Tiffany injects his sperm into Jennifer's vagina. You noticed that a paparazzo had photographed you through the window. While Tiffany is sleeping, Glen (da) and his father commit his first unintentional murder of the sensational journalist. Glen (da) tries to save the man, but scares the man and he hits a shelf with a glass of acid on it, which falls on the man's head. However, Chucky is enthusiastic about it and immediately takes a picture with his boy and his first victim.

The next morning, Jennifer notices her pregnancy, which is extremely fast, whereupon Redman explains to her that she cannot appear in the film like this, which she, like Tiffany, is indignant about. Without further ado, Tiffany Redman slits open the stomach, who is so surprised that he cannot even call for help. In doing so, she unintentionally destroyed the body that Chucky wanted to use for his new life. When he finds out, he gets very angry and has to get a new host. To do this, they lure Jennifer's chauffeur into the house and overwhelm him. He and Jennifer are gagged and tied to a bed.

Joan is now worried about her friend Jennifer. She tries in vain to get into the house, which she finally manages with a second key. There she is burned with hairspray by Glen (da) who suddenly discovers his murderous side.

Shortly thereafter, Jennifer had twins, so that the new bodies for the dolls could begin to take possession of. Glen (da) doesn't know whether he wants to be a boy or a girl and Chucky wants to stay "Chucky - the killer doll". Tiffany leaves Chucky, which makes him so angry that he throws a knife at her, but kills the chauffeur with it. Tiffany desperately wants to become a movie star in Jennifer's body, so Chucky throws the knife in her chest and flees with Glen (da), since the police arrive in the meantime, which was called by a silent alarm that was unconsciously triggered by Joan when she opened the door opened with the duplicate key.

The police take Jennifer and her twins to a clinic where their story is not believed and they are left alone in the room. Tiffany and Glen (da) followed her to the hospital and Tiffany drugged Jennifer by adding a narcotic to her IV. Then she tries to get into Jennifer's body, but is murdered by Chucky, who had also followed the two, with an ax and the words: "Nobody leaves me, nobody!" As she dies, Tiffany explains that she just wants Glen to be a good child. But Glen (da) proves that he / she is a killer when he dismembers Chucky with an ax in anger over his deed.

The end credits 5 years later: Glen (da) is split into a female and a male side because he / she had taken possession of the twins' bodies. Glen is good and peaceful, while Glenda is brutal and cold-blooded. Tiffany, who obviously managed to get inside Jennifer's body, murders the nanny because she wants to quit for fear of Glenda. Glen also receives a gift from his mother, who doesn't know who it is from. In the package is his father's arm, which is choking the boy.

criticism

“Fifth film about the criminal plastic dolls, in which the horror takes a backseat in favor of a peculiar family drama. The grotesque horror trash full of film and genre recitations should probably only arouse interest from die-hard fans of the speculative series. "
