Chucky 3 is an American horror film from 1991 and the sequel to Chucky and Chucky 2 is back .

Eight years have passed since the events of the second part. The Good Guy company wants to relaunch the doll after all the negative publicity from back then and is starting production again. The remains of Chucky are also processed and Charles Lee Ray's soul comes to life again. As the first doll in the new series, Chucky is given away to the company manager Mr. Sullivan, who takes it home with him unsuspecting. There he is murdered by Chucky that same evening before the killer doll finds out where Andy Barclay is.
Andy has grown into a teenager and is now attending a military school. He spent the last few years in homes and foster families as his mother has been under psychiatric supervision and has lost custody since the events of the first part. Andy is still traumatized by the killer doll and tries to suppress the events of that time. He finds it difficult to adapt to tough everyday military life and, like everyone else, suffers from his commander Lieutenant Shelton, who harasses students and lets his superiority be felt. Chucky sends herself to military school on her own; The package is suppressed by the young cadet Tyler, who has long wanted a Good Guy doll. Chucky confides in him because he has a new body and can now transfer his soul to another body.
When the head of the military school discovers Tyler, he takes the doll from him and throws it in the garbage can. Andy watches the director with the doll and fears bad things. When a garbage truck empties the bin with the doll, Chucky yells for help and lures the driver into the press. He starts the machine and kills the garbage truck driver. In the evening he attacks Andy in his room, who is visited shortly afterwards by Shelton, who takes the doll from him. Andy tries to steal Chucky from Shelton's room later that night, but is caught and confronted by him. Chucky disappears unnoticed and goes in search of Tyler. Meanwhile, Shelton has all the students in his group exercise outdoors in order to expose the thief of the doll. Chucky spots Tyler in the headmaster's office, where the two are interrupted by two students. Chucky stays behind when the students disappear and the principal arrives. He wants to attack it, but the director has a heart attack when he sees the doll.
At the annual War Games, Chucky tries to finish his work, but is stopped by Andy and his girlfriend Kristen, and Kristen is injured with a bullet. Since there is a fairground near the forest where the war games take place, Andy and Tyler hide in a haunted house and can defeat Chucky by pushing him into a fan that tears up the doll's body. Andy is finally taken by the police to an interview.

- Filming lasted from the beginning of February to the end of April 1991.
- In Great Britain, where the film was released directly on video, a scandal broke out because it was suspected that the film inspired the two murderers of James Bulger to act.
- The film was indexed from 1993 to September 2013, but the label was able to remove it before the 25-year period after application had expired. After a re-examination by the FSK, the film was still approved for ages 18 and over.
