Chucky 2 - The Killer Doll is Back ( Child's Play 2 ) is the sequel to the horror film Chucky - The Killer Doll and was released in 1990.

action

After the events of the first part, the cremated remains of Chucky are taken back to the Good Guy factory, where the doll will be restored. The case of Andy Barclay unsettled the company's investors, which is why this is to prove that the doll works normally. When these eyes are used, one of the technicians gets into the machine's circuit and is killed in front of the company manager Mr. Sullivan and his assistant Mattson. Mattson is then ordered by Mr. Sullivan not to make the events public and to dispose of the doll. When he was out with the doll in his car that evening, he was suffocated by the doll with a plastic bag.

Chucky sticks to his previous plan and wants to use Andy Barclay's body to escape from the doll's body. He doesn't have much time because he is becoming more and more human and otherwise has to stay in the doll's body forever. He succeeds in locating Andy's new place of residence, who now lives in a foster family, since his mother was admitted to psychiatry after the previous events. To Andy's chagrin there is another Good Guy doll in the house of the Simpsons, his foster parents, which mother Joanne immediately clears away. When Chucky locates the house, he destroys and buries the other doll in the garden and can take her place unnoticed. Soon he makes a first attempt to transfer his soul into Andy's body, which by chance is prevented by Andy's foster sister Kyle.

Andy now knows that Chucky is back, but nobody believes him. So Chucky kills Andy's teacher Mrs. Kettlewell at school. Andy's foster father Phil soon becomes too much of Andy's panic in front of the doll, so he throws it in the basement. Andy tries to destroy Chucky with an electric knife during the night, but is overwhelmed by it. When Phil steps in and tries to calm Andy down, Chucky trips him on the stairs, causing him to fall and break his neck. Joanne then blames Andy for her husband's death and sends him back to the home. All that remains is Kyle, who throws Chucky in the garbage can out of dismay. That same night she discovers the remains of the other doll in the garden and realizes that the garbage can is empty. When she visits Joanne in her bedroom, she finds her dead and is attacked by the killer doll. Armed with a dagger, Chucky urges her to take him to Andy in the children's home.

Once at the home, Chucky triggers the fire alarm to cause a riot and kills the home manager, who angrily snatches the doll from Kyle. Chucky is able to kidnap Andy and escape on a newspaper truck, while Kyle takes the car in pursuit. When they reach the Good Guy factory and Chucky tries again to transfer his soul, he bleeds again from his nose, which is a sign that he has become human in his doll body and therefore no longer in a real body can arrive. Beside himself with anger, he wants to take revenge on Andy, but is prevented by Kyle, who is now also in the factory and flees to the manufacturing department with Andy. Chucky follows them and kills a technician who is fixing a machine.

Andy and Kyle are able to push Chucky into a machine that welds the dolls together. However, he escapes, badly drawn, and can throw Kyle unconscious with the hung corpse of the technician onto the conveyor belt. Then he wants to take revenge on Andy, but gets stuck in a radiator under a valve with liquid plastic. Andy opens the valve and hot plastic is poured over Chucky. He can just bring Kyle to consciousness before she also lands in the machine. When they examine Chucky's remains, the killer doll pounces on them again. Kyle can put a tube with escaping air into Chucky's mouth, which fills up and bursts. Now he seems finally defeated. Andy and Kyle leave the factory wondering where their home is now.

Reviews

"Continuation of the horror film 'Chucky - The Murderer Doll', which fails to build up the tension of its predecessor; the no-frills staging is based on the common specifications of 'slasher movies'. "
