Stefan Czapsky

Stefan Czapsky (born December 15, 1950 in Oldenburg , Germany ) is a German-American cameraman of Ukrainian descent.

Life

Stefan Czapsky was born as the son of Ukrainian emigrants in Oldenburg, Germany. His family moved on to the United States , where they settled in Cleveland , Ohio . After graduating from Case Western Reserve University with a degree in film history and criticism, Czapsky moved to Columbia University , where he graduated in film.

After being in the two films in 1976 Gang Wars and God Told Me To Paul Glickman assisted with the camerawork, Czapsky remained nearly a decade assistant in various roles before 1986 for the first time in the sports drama Runner of Rob Nilsson autonomously worked as a cameraman. In particular, the subsequent collaboration with Tim Burton in the films Edward Scissorhands , Batman's Return and Ed Wood not only led to Czapsky being nominated several times for film awards, but also receiving awards, especially for Ed Wood .
