Brad Dourif
Bradford Claude Dourif (born March 18, 1950 in Huntington , West Virginia ) is an American actor .
life and work
After his first experiences on school and university stages in his birthplace Huntington, Brad Dourif moved to New York , where he appeared in off-Broadway productions .
His first engagement in the feature film sector was in 1975 a small supporting role in A Supertyp skin the drum . In the same year, he made a lasting impression in his second film role as Billy Bibbit in Miloš Forman's film drama One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest , which meant a big boost to his awareness and, among other things, a Golden Globe Award for best young actor and an Oscar nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category .
Since then, Brad Dourif has appeared in numerous film and television productions. In the majority of cases he embodied more or less psychopathic people. Among other things, he took on the roles of Mentaten Piter de Vries in David Lynch's science fiction film Dune - The Desert Planet and Grima Worm's Tongue in Peter Jackson's film trilogy The Lord of the Rings .
Brad Dourif also appeared in individual episodes of the TV series Babylon 5 , The X-Files , Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager and Wild Palms, and he played one of the leading roles in Deadwood . In the United States, the speaking role of the killer doll Chucky earned him additional popularity. Dourif also lent his voice to the Worm Creature in Gingerclown . In 2010 he starred as a psychopathic serial killer in Justin Steele's thriller Death and Cremation .
His daughter Kristina, born in 1976, and Fiona Dourif (* 1981), who also works as an actress, emerged from his now divorced marriage with the allegedly psychologically gifted Joni Dourif .
