The successful black architect Flipper Purify starts an affair with the Italian Angie. This changes their lives abruptly: Purify is left by his wife and moves in with his father. Angie is beaten up by her father. The couple decides to move in together. In the end, however, the relationship breaks due to the conflicts that arise.
Reviews
The Lexicon of International Films certified director Spike Lee that he had drawn a "seemingly hopeless picture of Afro-American existence" with the film. Rotten Tomatoes sees an 86% positive rate.
