Political Film Society

The Political Film Society is a non-profit organization that was founded in Honolulu in 1986 as a project of the Hawai'i Political Studies Association. The headquarters were relocated to Hollywood in 1998 .

The Political Film Society honors films with politically valuable content, including a. in the categories of democracy , human rights and peace .

A board of three members is elected in the annual general meeting. These three people in turn elect the CEO . Michael Haas has been CEO of the organization since its inception.

Since 1987, the Political Film Society annually honors films with the Political Film Society Awards , which are also known as the Stanley Awards.
