The Exorcist III is the second sequel to the horror film The Exorcist . The film was directed in 1990 by William Peter Blatty , who also wrote the script for the original film. The third part of the series is based on the novel Daszeichen ( Legion ), which Blatty wrote in 1983.
action
A murderer is up to mischief in the city of Georgetown, whose way of killing is reminiscent of the so-called Gemini killer . However, 15 years ago he was sentenced to death and executed. During his investigation, Lt. William 'Bill' Kinderman in a mental institution on patient X, who turns out to be the believed dead Father Damien Karras. But Father Karras is obsessed with the soul of the Gemini killer and has to murder. All victims are closely related to the events of the first part. In the end, Father Karras is killed by Kinderman, and thus the Gemini killer also dies.
criticism
The lexicon of international films described the film as "perfectly staged". It is well staffed and, moreover, "passable entertainment for friends of the genre".

- Brad Dourif and the film itself each received a nomination for the Saturn Award.
