Todd Ramsay

Todd Ramsay also Todd C. Ramsay (born July 30, 1947 as Todd Clark Ramsay ) is an American film editor who was responsible for the film editing of over 25 productions in his almost 40-year film career . Including classics of modern American cinema such as Star Trek: The Film , The Rattlesnake , The Thing from Another World , Black Moon or The Exorcist III .

life and career

Todd Ramsay worked at the beginning of his career as an assistant on the MGM production That's Never Again (1974), later also on the Paramount Pictures production A Woman Sees Red (1976), and the independent horror thriller The Devil on Wheels (1977 ).

In 1979, the old science fiction master Robert Wise entrusted him with editing the lavish cinema production Star Trek: The Film . After this success, the director John Carpenter engaged him for the two Kurt Russel films The Rattlesnake and The Thing from Another World .

Since the mid-1980s, Ramsay has worked as a freelance editor, mainly film productions from the action, horror and science fiction film industry. Including Black Moon and Malone for director Harley Cokeliss . In 1990 William Peter Blatty engaged him for the horror film sequel The Exorcist III .

At the beginning of the 2000s, he was responsible for more and more independent film productions with a smaller budget as an editor. At the Rhode Island International Film Festival in 2003 he was awarded the Grand Prize for Best Editing for the drama Finding Home with Lisa Brenner , Misha Collins , Geneviève Bujold and Louise Fletcher by director Lawrence David Foldes .

During his career as an editor, Ramsay worked with directors Stephen Gyllenhaal , Ate de Jong , Jim Kouf , Hampton Fancher , Stephen Carpenter, Chris Iovenko and Giorgio Serafini, among others .

Todd Ramsay lives in Tujunga in the US state of California .
