Lawrence David Foldes also Lawrence D. Foldes (born November 4, 1959 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American director , screenwriter and film producer . He became known through independent films such as The Curse of Eternal Life , Hell is Going in Heaven or Finding Home .

life and career

Lawrence David Foldes, born in 1959 in Los Angeles , California, graduated from high school at the age of sixteen, then studied at the University of California (UCLA) and the private art school of the California Institute for the Arts in Valencia, Los Angeles County. He has worked in the film business in various functions since his early twenties.

In 1979 he succeeded in entering the film business as an independent director, screenwriter and producer with the low-budget horror drama The Curse of Eternal Life with the cast of Aldo Ray , Meeno Peluce and Barbara Bain . In 1980 he directed the adventure film Am Himmel ist hell los , a second film with Aldo Ray in the lead role. Between 1983 and 2003, four more independent productions were made under his leadership, such as Young Warriors with Ernest Borgnine and Richard Roundtree , the action drama Nightforce - Schreckenskommando with Linda Blair and Richard Lynch , the comedy Chili Con Carne in 1995 and the romantic drama Finding Home with Lisa Brenner , Misha Collins , Geneviève Bujold or Louise Fletcher in the leading roles. The film has won numerous international festival awards, including Best Film at the Memphis International Film Festival , the Mount Shasta International Film Festival and the Nashville Film Festival .

From 1983 to 2007 he was married to the actress Victoria Paige Meyerink. Foldes is the son-in-law of actress Jeanne Baird .
