Thom Noble

Thom Noble (born May 1935 ) is a British film editor who won both an Oscar for Best Editing and an Eddie , the American Cinema Editors (ACE) film award .

Life

Noble began his career as an editor in the film industry in 1964 with the production Verführung wants sein (Rattle of a Simple Man) and has been involved in the production of over fifty films to date.

At the Oscar ceremony in 1986 , he won the Oscar for Best Editing for Witness (1985) by Peter Weir with Harrison Ford , Kelly McGillis and Danny Glover in the lead roles . At the same time he received the Eddie from the American Cinema Editors (ACE) and was also nominated for the British Academy Film Award for best editing .

In 1992 he received an Oscar nomination for Best Editing for Thelma & Louise (1991) from Ridley Scott starring Susan Sarandon , Geena Davis and Harvey Keitel . He was also nominated again for the BAFTA Film Award for editing this film.

He is currently working on the preproduction of Miracle Underground by director Armand Mastroianni with the leading actors Eric Roberts , Nia Peeples and Adrian Paul . The film about the mining disaster in San José is due to have its cinema premiere in 2015.
