action

Psychotherapist Bill Capa gives up his practice in New York City after a patient commits suicide. He visits his friend, Bob Moore , in Los Angeles and gets to know his patient.

Moore is killed, the police officer Lt. Martinez suspects Capa. Capa takes over Moore's patient group and looks for the murderer, whom he suspects to be among the murdered man's patient group. He meets Rose, with whom he starts a relationship. As it turns out, Rose has some erotic relationships with other members of the group as well. She can offer everyone in the group exactly what he is looking for, because she knows her wishes from the therapy: She is - unrecognized by everyone else - a member of the group herself. There she assumes the identity of her younger brother, who has long been dead. Her older brother was responsible for his death and compensates for this trauma by forcing Rose to disguise and pretend to be the younger brother. A showdown between Capa and Rose's brother takes place in a warehouse, where Capa manages to overcome his own trauma after losing the patient.
