Bonkers, the Cunning Lynx of Hollywood ( English: Bonkers ) is an American animated series from the Walt Disney Company from 1993.
The main character Bonkers D. Bobcat is a lynx who was a Hollywood star and now works as a police officer. In the series, other characters from Disney series also appear occasionally, such as Donald Duck and the hatter from Alice in Wonderland .
content
After the toon Lynx Bonkers D. Bobcat was fired from the film studio Wackytoons Studios, he began a career as a police officer. Together with a human partner, Lucky Piquel, he fights the crime in the Toon Department of the Hollywood Police Department. Later the police officer Miranda Wright becomes his partner.
Origin and production
The idea for the series came from the 1988 film Wrong Game with Roger Rabbit , on which Disney was involved. However, the character of Roger Rabbit was no longer used, although it was very well known, presumably because Disney was not the sole owner of the rights to the character. The idea of having toon characters and people appear together should still be implemented in a television series.
In 1992 Bonkers first appeared in the motion picture Petal to the Metal . There he performed together with Jitters A. Dog . Both appeared in the cartoon series Raw Toonage - Kunterbuntes aus der Trickkiste . After the film, Disney produced an animated series with the character that had a total of 61 episodes.
