Jim Cummings
James Jonah "Jim" Cummings (born November 3, 1952 in Youngstown , Ohio ) is an American voice actor .
Life
As a young child, Jim Cummings enjoyed making noise and disguising his voice. He had his first television appearance in 1985 in the series Dumbo's Circus . In 1988 he took over the voice of Winnie the Pooh in the corresponding films and series , whose original spokesperson Sterling Holloway had retired. Since 1999 he has also spoken in Tigger's Adventures of the Bear, who until then had been interpreted by Paul Winchell .
However, this isn't the only time Cummings voiced two lead roles in the same production. In Bonkers he spoke to both the main character of the same name and his partner, the bad-tempered police officer Lucky. Other well-known roles that Cummings impersonated in Disney series were, for example, Darkwing Duck and Kater Karlo . To date, he has appeared in almost 300 animated films and cartoon series.
Jim Cummings also works as a spokesperson for commercials and movie trailers.
Awards
Jim Cummings has received two Annie Award nominations: 1995 for his role as Mr. Bumpy in Bump in the Night in the Voice Acting in the Field of Animation category and in 2004 for his role as the snake Kaa in The Jungle Book 2 in the Outstanding category Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production . At both awards, however, he received nothing.
