Piglet's Big Adventure (Original title: Piglet's Big Movie ) is a cartoon from 2003 directed by Francis Glebas and the eighth movie from Disney Toon Studios . The film is based on the children's books Pooh Bear by Alan Alexander Milne .

action

In the Hundred Acre Wood, Winnie the Pooh , Tigger, Rabbit and Eeyore are working on a plan to lure bees out of their hive and get their honey. When the piglet arrives, he is told that he is too small to be able to help. The execution of their plan seems to go wrong, however, and it is only through the intervention of the piglets that the bees can be caught. The four now praise each other for their plan and the successful execution, but ignore the involvement of Piglet and ignore him. When Piglet leaves disappointed, the four of them don't notice him either. When the bees break out again, they flee to Piglet's house. It's not there, but they find a book with his drawn memories. To find piglets again, visit the places described in the book. The stories from the book remind her of the great and courageous deeds Piglet did for his friends. They lose the book and when Pooh tries to get it back he is in danger. Then Piglet suddenly appears and saves Pooh. Everyone is happy that Piglet is back and they celebrate a party with him.

Reviews

  • Lexicon of international films : The Disney cartoon was based on the "Winnie the Pooh" children's books by AA Milne and places the little pig, one of the lovable marginal characters, at the center of the episodic plot, always suffering from self-confidence and seeking recognition from friends . Friendship and solidarity are told in a child-friendly and personable way.
  • Carsten Scheibe wrote on stern.de : "Ferkel's great adventure" consists of several episodes that are held together by a framework plot. This is good for young children because they cannot follow a single story for so long. The stories themselves are told very calmly, very down to earth and absolutely not scary: no nightmares arise here.
  • Susanna Nieder wrote in Der Tagesspiegel : Anyone who knows Puh, Ferkel and Christopher Robin from the stories and drawings by AA Milne will most likely love them for their bizarre nature. At Disney, the little British eccentrics from the Hundred Acre Woods become rather dumb fellows with permanent question marks in their voices. […] By and large, the result is a very American story of friendship, tolerance and other great values. […] The only really strange thing is the end credits, in which Carly Simon stands in a meadow with his guitar, sings the title song in English and smiles very broadly. That can only be addressed to mom and dad. If the youngsters are not besieging them for the soundtrack, then the pop queen of the eighties may have a sales-promoting effect.

Awards

The film was nominated for a 2004 Annie Award in the Outstanding Effects Animation category.
