content

The richest duck in the world, Dagobert Duck , goes with his nephews Tick, Trick und Track , their girlfriend Webby and the break pilot Quack in the desert in search of the legendary treasure of Collie Baba (cf. Ali Baba ). With the help of the greedy thief Dijon, the group goes into a cave in the middle of an Arabian desert, where they suspect the treasure. With the help of the skills that Tick, Trick and Track have acquired at their boy scout association Fähnlein Fieselschweif , the traps can usually be avoided. So they can also find the treasure, which makes Dagobert very happy. There is also an old oil lamp under the treasure. Since Webby has his eye on this piece and Dagobert considers it worthless, he leaves her the lamp.

However, Dijon also wants the lamp that he is supposed to get for his master Merlock. Merlock is an evil wizard who can transform into any animal with the help of his talisman. Just as the group around Dagobert has prepared the treasure for transport, Merlock appears, sets the rope bridge to the base on fire and lets it sink. The group is lowered into a pit, seemingly hopeless, in which there are aggressive scorpion-like creatures. However, they can use the basket in which the treasure was located to save themselves from the creatures and escape through a crack to the outside. However, Dagobert is very dissatisfied because he had to leave the treasure of Collie Baba behind. Meanwhile, Merlock is looking for the lamp in the treasure and cannot find it. He therefore suspects that Dagobert must be in possession of the lamp and follows him in the form of an eagle with Dijon to Duckburg.

In Duckburg, Dagobert licks his wounds. Since he wanted to impress an archaeological society with the treasure and did not come back, he reacts irritably to further inquiries and invitations. Meanwhile, Webby cleans the lamp in the presence of the boys, whereupon a genius in the form of an insecure boy appears and each of the children will grant three wishes. The first thing Webby wants is a baby elephant. But this is frightened and causes chaos in Dagobert's villa and frightens the housekeeper Aunt Frieda. Dagobert does not escape this chaos and he confronts the children. They hide the genius in the closet and try to talk their way out of the situation. However, the genius causes further chaos when he slips on a roller skate and pulls the furniture away in the closet. To forgive the truth for now, the genius disguises himself like a normal child, whereupon the children pretend that it is their friend Gene who is staying for one night. Dagobert is not particularly enthusiastic about it, but allows it.

The children mostly use their remaining eleven wishes for toys and a large sundae. In the end, there are only two wishes left, one from Webby and one from Track. When the children miss the time as a result, they face educational measures. The genius can influence Dagobert in such a way that he is indulgent. He is happy to be part of the group because he had never known anything like it. During the night, however, a panic seizes him when an eagle flies past the property that Merlock suspects to be. He then tells his story to the children. So Merlock was the previous master of genius and made a first wish for eternal life. With the talisman he can also modify the lamp so that he has endless wishes. But the genius doesn't want to go back to Merlock because he is evil and was also responsible for the downfall of Atlantis and Pompeii . The genius's concern is well founded, as Merlock and Dijon have actually reached Duckburg and the Ducks estate. To find out where the lamp is, Merlock transforms into a rat and infiltrates the property.

The next day, Webby makes one last wish during a tea party that her stuffed animals come to life. But because these cause even greater chaos (and a stuffed Merlock eats in his rat form), Track is forced to use his last wish to undo the chaos that has been caused, which also saves Merlock. This also makes it clear to Dagobert that the strange boy is the legendary ghost in the lamp. Since he has three wishes, he wants the treasure of Collie Baba, which appears immediately. With this treasure and the genius, he calmly looks forward to the invitation from the archaeological society, ignoring the children's wishes not to do this to the genius.

During the event, Merlock attacks Dagobert and the genius in the form of a bear . To save himself, the genius hides the lamp on a chandelier and himself and Dagobert in it. The plan seems to work, Merlock and Dijon do not find the lamp and then search for the lamp separately. During the confusion of the escape, Dagobert mistook the lamp for an imitation, at the same time Dijon found the original and wanted to leave it to Merlock. The genius tries desperately to convince Dijon to use the lamp himself to subjugate the genius, which he likes very much. He then wishes for Dagobert's fortune.

When Dagobert returns to his money storage, he realizes what has happened. Dijon can Dagobert for trespassing arrest and bring to jail. But he doesn't stay there long because the group around the children, Quack, Aunt Frieda and Johann pay the bail. However, Dagobert lets the children persuade him to get everything back by infiltrating the money store and trying to get to Dijon to steal the lamp and undo everything. With his knowledge of the security system, Dagobert and the children start the storm on the money store. Merlock, who meanwhile wants to take revenge on Dijon, also takes part in the storm unnoticed and transformed as a cockroach . In fact, they manage to bypass the security system and get to Dijon. However, Merlock gets ahead of Dagobert, takes the lamp and puts his talisman on it.

Equipped with unlimited desires, Merlock wants Dijon to be transformed into a pig and his old room from the money storage, which now lifts and hovers over Duckburg. In order to get rid of Scrooge, Merlock wishes that he be removed from the room, which triggers a storm that blows Scrooge to the edge, which holds there with the last of his strength. At the same time, however, the children manage to snatch the lamp from Merlock with a noose . Dagobert gets hold of the lamp, but also loses his grip and falls off. With the help of the talisman, Merlock transforms into a griffin and can catch Scrooge . However, he can free himself and knock the talisman away from Merlock, with which he also loses his magical power, can no longer transform and also falls. With the lamp and his second wish, Dagobert wants the money storage in its old place and the rescue of his family, which the genius immediately fulfills. The group is saved.

Dagobert is aware, however, that the lamp continues to pose a risk and will attract other figures like Merlock. To prevent this, he wants to render the lamp harmless, which horrifies the children and the genius and tries to dissuade their uncle from doing so. With his last wish, however, he wishes that the genius would be a real boy, which makes the children and the genius overjoyed. The lamp is weathered and all wishes are undone, which also transforms Dijon back into a person. While the children are going to play again, Dagobert wants to make his obligatory dive into his money, but sees Dijon, who has filled his pockets with it. Angry, Scrooge ran after the fleeing thief.

synchronization

Not a single voice from the series - which was before the first season was re-dubbed when the film was released - was re-engaged in the film. In the re-dubbing of the first season, Ranja Bonalana was used for the voice of Tick, Trick and Track. In addition, Joscha Fischer-Antze was signed for Dagobert Duck for the second season. Furthermore, the German names of Launchpad McQuack and Webby were not taken over from the series, where they were given the names "Quack, der Bruchpilot" and "Nicky" for the German-speaking market. Many fans criticize the poor dubbing of the film. Quack is called "Quax" in the German version, which is an approximation of the allusion of the German character name to the film Quax, der Bruchpilot .

The synchronization was done at Michael Eiler Synchron GmbH in Berlin based on a dialogue book and the dialogue direction by Mario von Jascheroff .

criticism

“The first feature film from Disney's TV and DVD division (also shown in theaters) nicely parodies" Indiana Jones ". Unfortunately the synchro got a bit loveless "

"Unsentimental, witty slapstick in the style of the early Disney cartoons with the first leading role in a feature film for Dagobert Duck."
