action

Cinderella and the prince have been married for a year, which is celebrated together with the mice Jacques and Karli and the fairy godmother. On this occasion, Anastasia, Cinderella's stepsister, who also longs for a partner, is able to steal the fairy's wand. When the fairy wants to take the magic wand back, there is a scuffle with Anastasia, who accidentally petrifies the fairy. Although she is sorry, her wicked mother intervenes and uses the wand to turn back time to the day after the ball, when Cinderella and the prince fell in love, and to make sure that the glass shoe that the prince fell in love with to lead his bride, Anastasia fits. Anastasia is then allowed to drive to the castle with the Duke. Cinderella is late from the chamber she was locked in, and the stepmother breaks the second shoe that Cinderella is carrying as final evidence.

In Anastasia, the prince does not recognize the girl from the previous evening. Therefore, the stepmother changes the prince's memory so that he believes he danced with Anastasia at the ball. Cinderella decides not to give up and sneaks into the palace as a servant. She runs into the prince, who is taken with her but cannot free himself from the curse. Cinderella's friends, the mice, want to help her, but Cinderella's stepmother tries hard to keep her away from the prince. So he spends time with Anastasia, who attracts attention with her clumsiness and causes a huge mess in the castle in an argument with her sister Drisella. She is very ashamed, but the king is fond of her because she reminds him of his deceased, also a little clumsy wife. He raves about true love, which makes Anastasia thoughtful.

Meanwhile, Cinderella's stepmother is no longer able to keep her away from the prince by claiming that she is crazy. In their presence the curse crumbles more and more, so the stepmother decides to get rid of Cinderella for good by shipping her abroad. However, Cinderella's friends, the mice, reach the prince and convince him that he has been cursed. He goes to Cinderella and gets her off the ship in time. Anastasia, Drisella and the stepmother disappear, but reappear when Cinderella's wedding is about to begin. Anastasia was turned into a Cinderella doppelganger by her mother. Cinderella asks Anastasia if she loves the prince at all, whereupon she replies that she also wants what Cinderella has. Despite her doubts, she wants to go through with the wedding. Cinderella is locked in a cursed carriage by her stepmother that is supposed to race over a cliff. Cinderella escapes with the help of the mice.

Anastasia in Cinderella's form receives a shell from the king that belonged to his wife. He tells her that you can feel it when you shake hands with true love. When Anastasia stands in front of the altar with the prince, she says no. Her mother attacks her angrily, but Cinderella intervenes. The stepmother and Drisella are turned into toads, the fairy godmother freed from her stone condition and Anastasia becomes herself again. While Cinderella and her prince are getting married, Anastasia gives the shell back to the king and apologizes for the betrayal, whereupon he replies that everyone deserves a chance to find true love.

In the end credits of the film, Anastasia finds her true love "again", the friendly young baker from the film Cinderella 2 - dreams come true .

Reviews

"Second sequel to the Disney classic 1950 as a direct-to-video production, which by far does not match the charm of the original, but is still amusing and child-friendly."
