Game principle and technology

Hero's Quest or Quest for Glory I is controlled via a text parser . In the VGA remake, this was replaced by a point & click user guide. Quest for Glory differs from other Sierra games through the combination of role-playing and graphic adventure elements. The role-play part of the series is shown by the fact that the player can create a character, where you have to choose between fighter , magician and thief. In the second and third part, the hero can become a paladin under certain circumstances . These three classes have different characteristics and skills that can be trained in the game and also have a strong impact on the course of the game. For many puzzles there are different solutions that are tailored to specific characters (for example, the fighter receives points for defeating an opponent in combat, while the paladin receives his points for solving the same problematic situation peacefully). The identification of the player with his hero was increased by the fact that the character could be imported into the next game in the series after solving the game.
