Heffalump - A New Friend for Winnie the Pooh is a cartoon from the Walt Disney Studios . The film is based on characters invented by Alan Alexander Milne for the novel Pooh the Pooh .

Winnie the Pooh , Ruh, Tigger, Rabbit and Piglet are back on an adventure trip. As usual, the small audience should be taught something. This time it's tolerance. After the solo adventures of Ferkel and Tigger, everything now revolves around the Heffalumps. This fabled species appears to be terrifying monsters, if the myths surrounding them are to be believed. Ruh gets it into his head to catch one of these monsters. It should start the next day, but Känga, Ruh's mother, thinks little of the idea of letting her child stride over the borders of the Hundred Acre Forest. But Ruh goes into business for himself and quickly finds what he is looking for in the forest.

A little Heffalump baby, called Lumpi (whose full name is Heffrich Trampler Trompeter Heffalump, IV. ), Turns out to be completely harmless and playful after an initial shock . When Ruh wants to introduce it to his friends, Lumpy reminds them of the terrible monsters that would live in the Hundred Acre Wood. These fears are of course unfounded, as Heffalump becomes clear in the course of the film.

The main speaker for the role of Heffalump was originally the five-year-old Kyle Stanger , who was selected from 900 applicants in America and England.
The singer of the title song, Carly Simon , invented the whole name for the Heffalump.
Heffalump is also available as an original radio play for the film, and a music CD has also been released: Winnie the Pooh's favorite songs and songs from the Heffalump film
Another Heffalump film was released on DVD in Germany in autumn 2005: Gruselspaß mit Heffalump. In it he celebrates Halloween for the first time with his new friends.
