Lü Meng
Lü Meng ( Chinese 呂蒙 / 吕蒙 ; * 178 ; † 219 ) was an important Chinese general of the Wu Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period .
According to his origins, Lü Meng was a warrior. He served as one of the commanding generals in many battles, for example in Hefei. It was developed by Sun Quan reminded to also include scholastic literary studies, and so was a capable strategist. He took lessons from the famous Lu Su , who was always impressed by Lü Meng. Later, Lü Meng was Lu Xun's teacher and told him that one day he would be his successor.
Lü Meng took back Jing Province from the Shu Han at the Battle of Fancheng and defeated Guan Yu by pretending to be ill and using the then unknown Lu Xun as commander. Guan Yu was deceived and neglected his defense. Then Lü Meng attacked and took the province, treating the people well to turn them against Guan Yu. After he personally executed Guan Yu and his son Guan Ping , Lu Meng fell ill and died despite Sun Quan's efforts.
In the story of the three realms , Lü Meng is possessed and killed by the angry spirit of Guan Yu. According to other sources, Lü Meng is said to have been poisoned by Guan Yu's successors.
