Digimon ( Japanese デ ジ モ ン Dejimon or デ ジ タ ル モ ン ス タ ー Dejitaru Monsutā , "Digital Monster") is the title of a series of merchandising products from the Bandai company , which include eight anime series, eleven anime films and a series of video games for various platforms , several mangas and a trading card game .
Toys
In June 1997 the first versions of the Digimon Virtual Pets appeared in Japan as a further development of the Tamagotchi . The game characters could fight virtual battles with each other. They were very successful and in December of the same year a second generation of the figurines was launched. There are different versions of the Digimon Pendulum, Pendulum Progress, Pendulum X, Accel, Twin, Digivice ic and the mini series. There are also versions for handhelds .
Manga
In the summer of 1997, a oneshot manga was published in Japan under the title C'mon Digimon . This was the predecessor of the Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 manga series .

Toei Animation produced eight Anime - TV shows for Digimon franchise. The Japanese first broadcast of the first five series was done by the broadcaster Fuji TV , the German-speaking one by RTL II . The sixth and seventh seasons were broadcast in Japan by TV Asahi and TV Tokyo . The broadcast of the upcoming eighth season will again be taken over by Fuji TV.

Movies
In addition to the television series, a total of eight or nine films were made in Japan. The first three films were cut together by the US licensee and dubbing studio Saban Entertainment to form the film Digimon - The Movie (Digimon - The Movie) .
