Bandai ( Japanese バ ン ダ イ ) was a Japanese toy manufacturer and has been a brand of Bandai Namco since the merger with Namco .

history

The company was founded in 1950. After Bandai merged with the video game manufacturer Namco in 2005 , Bandai is only a brand of the new company Bandai Namco Holdings . Namco and Bandai together form the third largest toy manufacturer in the world.

Products

Subsidiaries

When Bandai was still independent, there were several subsidiaries that continue to exist after the merger with Namco:

Bandai Visual (Emotion) , produces (partly together with Sunrise , also a Bandai subsidiary) and distributes many well-known anime series. These include Cowboy Bebop , Outlaw Star , The Vision of Escaflowne , Mobile Suit Gundam, and Witch Hunter Robin .

Bandai America , the American division of Bandai, makes toys for the US market and distributes Bandai games and many of Bandai Visuals anime series in the United States through the Bandai Entertainment division .

Bandai Games produced and distributed video games. In the meantime, this branch of the company was incorporated into Bandai Namco Games .
