Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna ( Japanese : デ ジ モ ン ア ド ベ ン チ ャ ー LAST EVOLUTION 絆 , Dejimon Adobenchā LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna ) is a Japanese animated adventure film produced by Tōei Animation and animated by the Yumeta Company. The film is considered the conclusion of the plot begun in 1999 by Digimon and plays in the same continuity as the first and second seasons of the Digimon television series and the Digimon Adventure tri film series . It was released in Japanese theaters on February 21, 2020.

The film sets five years after the events of Digimon Adventure tri. in 2010, with Tai and his friends reaching adulthood in their early twenties. When news reaches them that the partnership with their Digimon is about to end and that they will be separated forever because they are no longer children, both them and their Digimon partners grieve. Meanwhile, the mighty Digimon Eosmon appears, which robs all other chosen children of their consciousness. Although Tai and his friends know that fighting Eosmon will shorten the amount of time they have with their Digimon, it's up to them to fight together one last time to save the world once more.
publication
The film premiered in Japan on February 21, 2020. The premiere in US cinemas is scheduled for March 25th. There is currently no information about a German publication or dubbing. Even before the film opened in Japanese cinemas in February, the animation studio Tōei Animation released a six-minute prequel short film on YouTube, which largely depicts Sora's and Biyomon's everyday lives. This is part of a five-part short film series called Digimon Adventure 20th Memorial Story that tells events around the film that did not make it into the film. The series was crowdfunded and shown in Limited Base's pop-up theater in Shibuya . The other short films should not be published on the Internet.
