Pia Tjelta
Pia Merete Tjelta (born September 12, 1977 in Stavanger ) is a Norwegian actress.
Life
Tjelta's acting career began in the mid-1990s when she toured Eastern Europe as a member of an independent Swedish theater company. After her return, she began to study acting at Statens teaterhøgskole in Oslo , which she broke off in favor of a leading role in the love comedy Mongoland , staged by Arild Østin Ommundsen , which also made her screen debut , and a pregnancy in 2000. She did not finish her studies until 2006.
Despite her film career, she remained connected to the theater and played several leading roles in various plays at the Oslo Nye Teater and the Det Norske Teatret .
For her portrayals on the screen she has been nominated and awarded several times for various film prizes. For her portrayals in Mars & Venus and 90 minutter she was nominated for an Amanda for Best Actress . She won the award itself in 2019 for her portrayal of Maria in the drama Blinder Fleck , staged by Tuva Novotny .
Tjelta became a mother for the first time in 2001. The child comes from a relationship with the actor Kyrre Haugen Sydness . From 2007 to 2014 Tjelta was in a relationship with the actor Mads Ousdal . She has been in a relationship with the actor and screenwriter Oddgeir Thune since 2015 . The couple had twins together.
