The administrative community Roßwein was an administrative community in the Free State of Saxony . It was located in the center of the district of central Saxony , about 30 km northeast of Chemnitz , about 40 km north of Freiberg , about 32 km southwest of Meißen and about 14 km south of the town of Döbeln . The landscape of the community area was in the central Saxon hill country in the valley of the Freiberg Mulde and the Great Striegis . The A4 runs south and the A 14 runs north of the former administrative area. The A 14 can be reached via the Döbeln-Süd connection and the A 4 can be reached via the Berbersdorf connection . The Chemnitz – Döbeln and Meißen – Döbeln railway lines run through the former community area.
The administrative community was established on November 26, 1994. With the incorporation of Niederstriegis into Roßwein, it was dissolved on January 1, 2013.

- Niederstriegis with the districts of Grunau, Hohenlauft, Littdorf, Mahlitzsch, Niederstriegis, Otzdorf and Zunschwitz
