The Black Pony was a pop rock band from Berlin . She became known through the reality show LAX - Follow the Black Pony on VIVA and Nickelodeon .

history

Beginnings of the band

Before founding the band, Eugen Flittner was a candidate in the 7th season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar . There he dropped out in the second recall, but stayed in contact with the then juror and later producer Volker Neumüller . Trevor Brown and Ryan Belitsky met in the summer of 2009 at a pop camp in Los Angeles . The contact to Eugen Flittner and Kevin Dollerschell came through the Internet.

The band was formed in Los Angeles in the summer of 2010 . In addition to Volker Neumüller, it is also produced by Michael Johnson . The reality show LAX - Follow The Black Pony ran on VIVA and Nickelodeon from October 6 to December 18, 2010 . On December 3rd, 2010 the first single Boys Are Crazy , which was written and produced by Lukas Hilbert , Michael Gerrard, Alexander Kronlund and Charlie Midnight, was released, which entered the German single charts at number 69 . On February 25, 2011, the second single Scars and Bruises followed , which reached number 72 in the German single charts.

On March 18, 2011, the band released their first studio album, Launched in the Pool , which entered the German album charts at number 47. Lukas Hilbert, Matthew Gerrard, Alexander Kronlund and Charlie Midnight worked on the album. Some songs were written by the band themselves. In addition, there is a cover version of the April 23, 2002 released single California by Phantom Planet on the album. The first tour of Germany also started on March 18, 2011 and lasted until April 2011. From May 20 to 23, 2011 the band could be seen in two episodes of the telenovela Hand on Heart . From August 5th to 19th, 2011 the band could be seen in five episodes of Anna und die Liebe . The song Goodbye Is Like Dying reached number 43 in the Austrian single charts .

Second studio album

In mid-August 2011 it was announced that Belitsky had returned to Canada because of an illness and family problems. It is still unknown whether he will finally leave the band. The producer Michael Johnson, who played drums in the band Natural until 2004 , is currently replacing him.

The band recorded the title song Takin 'Care of Things for the film Phineas and Ferb, which was released on September 9, 2011 - across the 2nd dimension . On September 26, 2011, the band was seen in an episode of Die Schulermittler . Guy Chambers and Taio Cruz wrote the song Perfect Night , which was released on October 7, 2011 as the first single from the second album. The single is a cover version of the single released on July 3, 2011 by Peter André . The single reached number 77 in the German single charts. From October 13, 2011 to January 22, 2012 the band was on their second tour in Germany. The second studio album Take Off was released in March 2012.

After a last appearance at the TAKKO fashion gig in the Petri school in Thuringia, the band members went their separate ways at the end of 2012. Trevor Brown went back to California for film projects, Eugen Flittner concentrated on school and Kevin Dollerschell completed an internship.
