Hand on heart was initially a German-language soap opera . On April 15, 2011 a restructuring to telenovela took place . The cast released a single and the album The Soundtrack . The format was developed by Petra Bodenbach .
production
The production company Producers at Work has long been looking for a suitable location for their new soap opera, because it should be the first of its kind that is not shot in a television studio. It was only through the agency of the Brandenburg Future Agency and the Berlin-Brandenburg Filmboard that the company became aware of the fallow barracks in Strausberg , the seat of the National People's Army during the GDR era . After the location decision in favor of Strausberg, the barracks were reconnected to the mains and optically converted into a school complex with a sports field, playground and teacher parking lot. The auditorium , which was also set up as a backdrop , was to play a special role . The number of actors and technicians employed was 125. The monthly running costs were around one million euros. 250 episodes were scheduled. Provided that 80 jobs would have been maintained for at least five years, the Brandenburg Ministry of Economics would have given a million dollar grant . However, due to a decline in viewers, production was stopped after 234 episodes.
Charisma
It was broadcast Monday through Friday on Sat.1 and ORF Eins from October 4, 2010 , and ended on September 2, 2011 after a total of 234 episodes. Since then, the women's broadcaster sixx has broadcast a repeat. On August 8, 2011, the series switched from Sat.1 to sixx. Since then, the program could be seen from Monday to Friday at 6:00 p.m.
On April 15, 2011 - as announced by producer Christian Popp on April 3, 2011 - the company was restructured into a telenovela. Even so, it was announced that the show would be canceled. The reason for this was the decline in audience numbers in June. At the Sat.1 program conference, those responsible finally decided to completely stop production.
Since May 2012, the digital pay TV channel SAT.1 emotions has been broadcasting the entire episodes hand-to-heart at regular intervals.
Web series
On October 4, 2011, Andreas Bartl , managing director of Sat.1, announced in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung that the series would be continued as a web series. However, Sat.1 has since withdrawn this consideration.
action
Years after graduating, Bea Vogel returns to her old school in Cologne as a teacher. Together with Luzi, she brings back to life the school's music group, with which she celebrated successes in her youth. On her first day at Pestalozzi School, she finds out that Ben Bergmann, her one-night stand, is her student. Ben falls in love with her, she loves him too, but doesn't admit it and doesn't want to jeopardize her profession through a relationship with a student. Nevertheless, there are always rapprochements. In the end, both dare to have an affair, but the new director Helena Schmidt-Heisig observes this with hawk eyes.
When Bea was at school, her classmate Franziska disappeared without a trace after an argument with Bea. The case has not yet been resolved, but Bea protests her innocence. During renovation work on the school's volleyball court, Franziska's skeleton is finally found and Bea is arrested. According to the police, Bea's motive would be jealousy because Franziska was having an affair with Bea's boyfriend at the time, Jens Mirbach. However, it turns out that the murdered woman not only had an affair with Jens, but also with Sophie's father. When she wanted to emigrate to Australia with Jens, she blackmailed Mr. Klein by threatening to tell his wife about her love affair. Out of panic, Mr. Klein killed Franziska. This was observed by Monika Klein, who did not want to destroy her family.
Characters
Alexandra Lohmann , PE teacher at the Pestalozzi School, doesn't like Bea. She assumes that she has something to do with the disappearance of her sister Franziska. She has an affair with the vice-principal Julian Götting and tries with the help of him by all means to drive Bea and the director Gabriele Krawczyk out of the school. Julian finally takes over the school management and wants to redistribute the classes according to school performance. Therefore some students are on strike. Alexandra and Julian are killed in a car accident.
Michael Heisig joined the Pestalozzi School as a teacher at the same time as Bea. He was initially sent to the school as an informant to check whether the headmistress Gabriele had a drinking problem. Michael's brother Sebastian runs the Chulos Club . Michael had a brief relationship with Luzi's mother, but has feelings for Bea. While Bea is under acute suspicion of murder, Michael stands by her.
The headmistress of the Pestalozzi School, Gabriele Krawczyk , has an alcohol problem. The high school supervisor Dr. Wendtland always kept her back free despite the addiction. Eventually she is led by Dr. Wendtland on leave. Shortly after Franziska's disappearance, Gabriele made a false statement to protect Bea by claiming that she had seen the missing woman after the argument with Bea.
Piet is Bea's brother. He met his wife Miriam during his school days and Miriam accidentally became pregnant. Both also decided to get married. Her child Lara has grown into a teenager and the marriage suffers greatly from the daily grind. Miriam starts an affair with Michael's brother Sebastian.
Caroline Eichkamp is the school bitch of the Pestalozzi School. She is in the volleyball club and was once Sophie's best friend, who ordered her around until she got too much and Sophie switched to Sing & Tanz AG (STAG). Sophie's relationship with her classmate Timo Özgül also suffered from Caro's dominance.
Sophie Klein lives with her mother and is a student at the Pestalozzi School. Her father left her many years ago. Sophie finds out that her late father was Franziska's lover. Sophie travels to Australia with the money from a kidnapping, because she interprets the transfers she discovered from her father to Jens as maintenance payments for Franziska, who supposedly lives in Australia.
Luzi Beschenko is in the STAG and in love with Timo, but he is with Sophie. After Sophie disappears, she begins a relationship with Timo, but it doesn't last long. Later she signed a contract with the label "Raumzeit".
Jenny Hartmann has lived with Ben since she came to Cologne from London. Emma Müller meets Jenny as a snooty person and doesn't get along well with her, but after a while she falls in love with her and the two get together.
Opening credits
In front of a painted background, you can see Bea going down the stairs and meeting Michael. When she turns away from him, Ben stands in front of her. She goes through a door on her left, which in this case is the door to the Vogel's house. Miriam picks them up happily and turns, while Piet is standing in the background. Bea goes to STAG to dance. Caro looks at this suspiciously as she walks / dances through the members of the group. When it passed, the STAG kept dancing until the name of the series appears on the right and the episode begins. All of this happens on the chorus of the song Stay the Night by James Blunt .
In the opening credits appear: Vanessa Jung (Bea), Marie Schneider (Gabriele), Verena Mundhenke (Alexandra), Sebastian Hölz (Julian), Andreas Jancke (Michael), Christopher Kohn (Ben), Caroline Maria Frier (Miriam) and Sonja Bertram (Caro) and without naming: Oliver Petszokat (Piet), Rocco Stark (Timo), Franciska Friede (Sophie), Selina Müller (Luzi), Kasia Borek (Emma) and Dennis Schigiol (Hotte)
