Verena Mundhenke (born April 9, 1978 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German actress , film director and model .

Live and act

In the late 1990s, Verena Mundhenke began working as a model for photographers and advertising agencies. For the New York agency Saatchi & Saatchi , however, she worked in the creation department. From 1999 she worked in film productions as assistant director, production manager, script, continuity and as a camerawoman before she turned to film directing and acting. From 2000 she studied at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne. She finished her studies in 2007 with a diploma . The 2007 film Journey to America , in which she reflects on her experiences in the model scene, was premiered in 2008 at the Max Ophüls Preis film festival.

As an actress, she gained attention through appearances in television films and television series such as Wilsberg and Ein Fall für Zwei , in the feature film Klimt and in short films at film festivals. In addition, her face became known to the general public through commercials for brands such as Tic Tac , Terra-Activ , Direct Line and RWE . Since 2009 she has been part of the main cast of the series Die Pfefferkörner in the role of Maike Krogmann .

From October 2010 to May 2011 she played the role of Alexandra Lohmann in the series Hand on Heart . As a presenter , she worked several times for the Night of the Raging Bulls (NOTRB) .

Private

Verena Mundhenke is in a relationship with the former German professional soccer player Florian Kringe .

In July 2012 she was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in the lymphatic system ( Hodgkin's lymphoma ). A month later, she underwent the first cycle of chemotherapy .
