The advertising strategist and entrepreneur Reinhard Waltz is a playboy and bon vivant as he stands in the book. When he sold his small medium-sized company to a corporation, he suddenly got rid of all his debts. From now on, he believes, he will be his own master. But suddenly you put a young advertising man in front of him who questions and criticizes all his decisions and approaches. Reinhard no longer understands the world and finds an open ear to an older model, a woman he had previously turned down for a campaign because of her age.

What he doesn't know is that Vera Lichtenberg is not a model at all, but a journalist who is supposed to write a revelatory story about Reinhard and his lifestyle.
