Jochen Stern , also Joachim R. Stern , (born September 10, 1928 in Frankfurt an der Oder ) is a German actor and book author .

Life

Stern attended elementary school and high school in Frankfurt on the Oder. From 1944 to 1945 he served as an air force helper and flak soldier during World War II . On July 1, 1946, he joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany . Because of his commitment to this party, he was arrested the following year by the Soviet secret service ( NKVD ) and sentenced to 25 years of forced labor in the Bautzen correctional facility . In 1954 he was released to the Federal Republic of Germany. During his imprisonment he came to acting, which he described as a "narcotic" against the difficult conditions of detention. After his release from prison, he first made up his Abitur and then studied law in Göttingen .

In addition to his theatrical work, Stern took part in numerous film and television productions . He had one of his first television roles in the series A Heart and a Soul , initially in one episode as Erich Rübensahm , later in three episodes as Disgust Alfred's best and only friend Erwin Koslowski . To this day, Stern can be seen in numerous guest roles on television, he had a recurring role in the 1990s as butler George Hethay in the series Forbidden Love . In the cinema he took on supporting roles in films such as Aimée & Jaguar (1999), Good Bye, Lenin! (2003) and Old Age Glow - Speed ​​Dating for Seniors (2014). In 2008/2009 he was on tour with the theater revue Die Sternstunde des Josef Bieder (by Eberhard Streul and Otto Schenk ) . In the 2000s he also read from Stasi files.

In addition to acting, Stern is the author of several books. In the right-wing extremist publishing house KW Schütz , he published the work “And the West is silent. He has lived in Bonn since 1957 and has been back in Frankfurt an der Oder for several years. Jochen Stern is an honorary member of the FDP district association Frankfurt / Oder. In 2007, Guido Westerwelle awarded him the Theodor Heuss Gold Medal.
