action

Horst Bömmelburg's relationship with his girlfriend Vera is stressful and unsatisfactory in every respect. After Vera finds a porn film in the trash, she leaves it on the spot and moves in with her mother.

Horst befriends his new neighbor and former school friend, the gay Siggi, who gives him a new and much more relaxed perspective on his own sex drive. At the same time, he begins a relationship with the famous soprano Kriemhild Nastrowa, who is currently making a guest appearance with the orchestra in which Horst works as a double bass player .

Vera knows nothing of all this and, on the advice of her friend Gilla, tries to seduce Horst with lingerie over dinner , but fails miserably. Gilla then brings Vera together with the editors Gudrun and Britta of the Xanthippe magazine . They interpret Vera's story in their own way and publish an article in which Horst is portrayed as a ruthless "perpetrator".

Shortly afterwards, Vera appears at Horst and Siggi's apartment party. When Horst foolishly tries to relieve Vera's feeling of humiliation from dinner together, she brutally kicks him in the abdomen and leaves the party. On the same evening Kriemhild ended her relationship with Horst; but this is rather relieved about this, since her insatiable hunger for love as well as her uninterrupted vocal exercises had overwhelmed him in the long run. Kriemhild marries the orchestra's aged conductor, Zacharias Brettschneider, who arranges her engagement at La Scala .

The neighbor Siggi has just separated from his longtime friend Hubert and lives a life between one-night stands and the desire to return to Hubert. When his mother announces her visit, he finally wants to explain his homosexuality to her and Hubert should be presented to her as a steady relationship, Hubert refuses and a one-night stand, Benno, is supposed to stand in for him. Hubert then unexpectedly turns up to visit his mother and Siggi's production is exposed. Hubert, who met Benno in this way, begins a relationship with him.

Horst confessed to Siggi his great passion for the porn star Kelly Trump . Without Horst's knowledge, Siggi registers him as a talk guest on the trash talk show Catch your Dreams , to which Kelly Trump and a fellow actress, as well as the editors of Xanthippe , are invited. Horst comes to the show with Siggi as a supposed spectator and is brought to the couch by the talk show host. Horst is publicly exposed as a porn addict, the other guests are introduced and the talk show host does his best to incite everyone against each other.

Siggi, who only wanted Horst to meet Kelly Trump, tries to leave the current show with him, when Vera appears. She watched the show on television and is so angry about the twisted portrayal of her relationship with Horst aus der Xanthippe read out during the show that she rushes to the studio to correct it. While wild arguments are raging on the show stage, Vera spontaneously makes friends with Kelly Trump, when Horst, who had previously completely lost, speaks up. He demands to know what all the fuss is about and urges anyone who has ever watched some porn to stand up. After some hesitation, the whole hall is at the end.

After the show, Vera and Horst are reconciled and also agree that their relationship had no basis. Vera goes to a bar with Kelly and Horst and Siggi go home philosophizing .

Reviews

"This inconsequential series of relationships, which with its faecal jokes doesn't even reach the" American Pie "level, is another work after " The Moving Man "and" Kondom des Horens "based on a template by comic author and illustrator Ralf König. But what is supposed to be funny is unfortunately just embarrassing, especially since the actors don't play, but charge. A lost opportunity for a good comedy. "

"Dreary sex clothes staged on television for uptight people."

background

With the film, Ralf König wanted to put heterosexual relationships in the foreground for the first time, after having always addressed homosexuality in German society in his previous work. His own perspective on heterosexual relationships, as a homosexual, is expressed through Siggi.

In contrast to the other König films, the story was first written as a screenplay and only then published as a comic .

After Kelly Trump, one of the most famous German porn stars of the 1990s, was won over for the role of the porn actress , her name was adopted instead of the one in the script. The original name was retained in the comic.
