Eberhard Streul
Eberhard Streul (born October 29, 1941 in Radebeul ) is a German dramaturge and director , librettist and editor .
Streul studied theater studies at the Leipzig Theater Academy and musicology at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig until 1966 .
In the season 1966/67 he worked as a director and dramaturge at the Landesbühnen Sachsen in Radebeul, went from 1967 to 1969 as an assistant director at the State Opera Unter den Linden in Berlin , returned to Radebeul for two years, and then from 1971 to 1977 as Director and dramaturge to work again in Berlin at the State Opera Unter den Linden.
In 1977 he moved to the Federal Republic of Germany, where he was engaged at the theater in Essen until 1981 . From there he moved to the National Theater in Mannheim . Both of them received the Günter Neumann Prize for the play Die Leiche im Sack , staged together with Franz Wittenbrink in 1983 .
From 1982 Streul taught singing / opera at the State University for Music Heidelberg-Mannheim Dramaturgy, first as a teaching position, from 1986 as a professor. From 1985 to 2005 he was also an editor at the television of the Süddeutscher Rundfunk in Stuttgart. Since 1989 he has also been the artistic director of the Mannheim Music Stage .
