Ingo Politz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ingo Politz (* 1959 ) is a German musician , composer , music producer and drummer .

Life

Politz took piano and drum lessons and attended several music schools. In 1983 he completed his studies at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in East Berlin .

Politz began his career as a drummer with Keks , then went to Neumis Rock Circus and later to Datzu .

He also worked as a studio musician and composed songs. During this time, Politz had a private relationship with Katarina Witt . From 1989 he worked as a sound engineer in a studio, where he met the musician Bernd Wendlandt in 1991 .

Wendlandt once founded a synth-pop band as a drummer , after the singer left, he took over this position and began studying singing. He also worked as a sound engineer until he met Ingo Politz. From then on, both teamed up as a team of composers and producers. The 8-track studio has now become three professional recording studios.

In 1992 they released their first joint production with Wiebke Schroeder, from which the single Hands Away From My Soul ( Eastwest ) emerged. In 1992 the single reached the 70th place in the German charts . For the singer's lyrics, she was awarded the Fred Jay Prize that year for her innovative use of the German language. She also received the Golden Tuning Fork as the best newcomer of the year. Their follow-up single, Ohne Dich , reached number 72. A year later, the album Zwing mich zum Glück was released .

In 1994, Politz and Wendlandt founded the joint label Turbo Beat with an affiliated publisher. They were able to win over Frank Maass for business issues. In 2002 the label was dissolved.

The two East Berliners Politz and Wendland produced parodies of songs from the children's TV series Our Sandman under the name Sandmann's Dummies . The first dance single was Oh you my nose ( Amiga ), which reached number 16 and stayed in the charts for 17 weeks. The follow-up single Der Fuchs geht durch den Wald (featuring Herr Fuchs & Frau Elster ) reached number 45 as the highest rating and stayed in the charts for four weeks.

With Mike Lehmann , a Berlin disc jockey from Radio Fritz , the team produced a hardcore comedy album called Kannste tick off in 1996 , which was released on the Turbo Beat label distributed by BMG / Aris.

In 1996 they started their collaboration with the dance group X-Perience (WEA), which had become aware of the Politz / Wendlandt producer team. The first album they produced was called Magic Fields , reached number 22 as the highest price and stayed in the charts for 19 weeks. The following singles were released from it:

  • Circles of Love (March 1996) reached number 72 and was on the hit lists for six weeks.
  • A Neverending Dream , which reached number 4 and had been in the charts for 26 weeks. This single went platinum in Finland and gold in Germany (for 250,000 copies sold). The single was released in February 1997
  • Magic Fields , which reached number 34 and was on the charts for nine weeks. The

second album by X-Perience,

  • Take Me Home reached number 22 on the charts. This became the pre-release single
  • I Don't Care , which reached number 33 and held its own in the German single charts for nine weeks.

From June 1997 they worked with Bell, Book & Candle ( BMG Musik Berlin ). The first hit Rescue Me reached number 3 in the charts and had far exceeded the platinum mark with 900,000 singles sold. The single was released in numerous countries, from Scandinavia to Southeast Asia. Four more albums and six singles followed, five of them in the top 100.

In the spring of 2002, Politz and Wendland founded the Forum Valicon, for which they were able to win Andre "Brix" Buchmann (DJ Brix) and Tommy Remm from Jeanette Biedermann's production team, who at that time provided songs for the then Christina-Stürmer album.

For the album of the group Angelzoom (label: Nuclear Blast ) Politz and Wendlandt provided all the songs as well as the single Fairyland , which was released in October 2004. The single Back in the Moment featuring Joachim Witt was able to place in the top 60 of the charts. In the meantime, Bernd Wendlandt wrote the horror score for the US film Alone in the Dark . In 2002 Politz / Wendlandt produced the Nik Page album Sacrifight (BMG). At the beginning of October 2004 the next album Sin Machine (Wannsee Records) and the single Dein Kuss - a duet with Joachim Witt - were released.

Valicon

In April 2005 Ingo Politz, Bernd Wendlandt, Brix and Jörg Hackerdas founded the Valicon label, which is distributed by Sony BMG . At first they produced the group Rivo Drei , their debut single Flugzeug (April 2005) and the album Yeah !, Jawohl and generally . The Swedish group Itchycoo, produced by Brix, Politz and Wendland, and the Berlin newcomer duo Jenna & Ron also entered the charts. As a result, they produced the second album by the Angelzoom group and the second album by Silbermond ( loud thought ), which was released by Sony BMG.

Other bands and performers produced by Valicon are Eisblume , Lena Meyer-Landrut , Silly , Jennifer Rush and Faun .
