Patrick Dewayne (born April 4, 1976 in Hanau ) is a German actor , musician , presenter , business journalist and non-fiction author .

biography

Dewayne's parents were German and American. He grew up with adoptive parents. After graduating from high school in 1996, he trained as a banker . Until the end of 2000 he was a stock trader at ICF Bank. Then Dewayne worked in equity trading at Deutsche Bank AG. He was active on the stock exchange and trading floor of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt am Main and New York City .

In 2004, Dewayne played the role of Kike Valdez in the RTL early evening series Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten in over 100 episodes. In keeping with his film character, he recorded the album Close up in 2004, which was released on the SonyBMG record label . The first single, Alles wasarta , made it into the top 20 of the German single charts. Appearances in television programs such as Top of the Pops , Bravo TV or Exclusiv - Das Starmagazin followed.

After Dewayne found his father in the US and his mother in Germany, he began to look more closely at his Afro-American origins and joined the group SFD - Black Filmmakers in Germany .

2007 was Dewayne in the musical Martin Luther King - The King of Love understudy for the lead roles. He embodied the black civil rights activist Malcolm X and a priest. In 2008 Dewayne took acting classes from Ivana Chubbuck .

In July 2009 he was in front of the camera for the television series Ein Fall für Zwei, as well as for the short film Mr. Schwiegersohn. The following year he acted a cop in the English-language movie The Big Black . Also in 2010 were two episodes for the “Kinder-Tatort” Krimi.de on KiKA , in which Dewayne played the leading role as Chief Inspector Anthony Nkruma. Dewayne also worked as a model in advertising.

In 2009, Patrick Dewayne completed a course to become a moderator at the Logo Institute in Frankfurt. Since then, he has moderated a large number of PR discussions, panel discussions and specialist events. At the same time he moderated the TV formats Kinovision and update for the private broadcaster QLAR . He leads through galas and events ( Cinema for Peace , Engagement Global , Qatar Germany Business Forum and many more).

In the 2012/2013 season, Patrick Dewayne was cast in the play La Cage aux Folles ( A Cage Full of Fools ) in the role of the gay butler "Jacob" in Frankfurt .

In 2014 the actor stood in front of the camera for the large-scale production Point Break , a remake of the film Dangerous Surf , and won the Regiostar in the category “Best Presenter”. Since 2015 Dewayne has also acted as a presenter for the private broadcaster Der Aktionär TV and the news channel N24 from the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. There he deals with topics for programs such as the stock market at noon and the stock market in the evening .

In the mystery sci-fi series Anomalie , he appeared in 2018/2019 as the villain Julius van Leeuwen. As an actor, Dewayne was seen in the crime scene in 2018 and in the family series Veterinarian Dr. Mertens and 2020 in the crime series SOKO Munich . He worked as an actor and financial advisor for the German-Luxembourgish, award-winning television series Bad Banks (seasons 1 and 2).

Dewayne is an ambassador for the Reading Foundation and a math sponsor for the Arithmetic Foundation . He is committed to the financial education of children, young people and adults.

On June 5, 2020, Patrick Dewayne's book “Anyone Can Money & You Now” was published by EDEL.

He lives in Bad Vilbel with his wife and three children .
