Meanwhile, Stern is together with the criminal investigation secretary Keller and with Dr. Steinfeld's practice co-owner sifting through Steinfeld's patient files in order to find clues about the murderer. The patients also include the US soldier Heather Miller, who has been severely traumatized since she was jointly responsible for the deaths of numerous women and children as a drone pilot. Because of her trauma, Dr. Steinfeld found her unfit for service. Contrary to Odenthal's instructions not to go alone to suspects' homes, Stern went to Miller in their private home and informed her of the police finding that she was with Dr. Steinfeld was receiving treatment. Miller expresses her bitterness over Steinfeld's unfit for service judgment and reveals that it was why she murdered him. She overpowers Stern, ties her to the heater and strips her. With Stern's clothes, hairstyle and ID card, she goes into the heavily guarded building where the politicians' meeting is to take place, and wants to murder O'Connor there in retaliation for her traumatization. Reviews

Critics were of the opinion that the film took over its theme. At Spiegel Online , Christian Buß said that the “synchronization of the victim's biography and the soldiers' medical records” would not work and that “questions of guilt would be put into perspective”, that the anger would “be directed all too quickly to the mechanically saluting cardboard comrades of big politics.” In the Süddeutsche Zeitung , Holger said Gertz rejects: "Cut-in war scenes seem presumptuous that the [sic!] Topic is too big, too huge for a mediocre Sunday evening thriller." The film service was particularly dissatisfied with a rating of one of five possible stars : "Hanebueches constructed and annoying superficial crime thriller that blows at the goal of a political thriller. Lengthy, illogical and with involuntarily comical dialogues, the film represents a low point in the 'Tatort' series. "
